Locum Small Animal Vet – Northampton
Key Details:
– Start Date: 14th July 2026
– End Date: 27 September 2026
– Working Days: 3 days per week Mon Wed and Fri
– Hours: 9:00 am–1:00 pm and 2:00 pm–6:20 pm, 20-minute consults with two 20-minute breaks per session
– Duties: Consulting focus
About the Role:
The client is seeking a capable locum Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to provide consistent cover from 1 June 2026 for approximately three months. The position is three days per week with structured consulting blocks of 20 minutes, supported by planned breaks each session. Nurses undertake most vaccinations, which enables the vet to focus on more varied and problem-based consultations. Any admissions and work-ups are passed to the operating vets. Confidence with some periods of sole charge will be required. The practice can offer up to £450 per shift, subject to experience and compliance.
About the Practice:
The practice delivers general first-opinion care to a mixed small animal caseload. Facilities support a modern consulting workflow and routine theatre work, with collaborative team values and consistent client service. Systems, rota specifics, and on-site equipment can be discussed at interview to ensure alignment with individual working preferences.
