Clinical Director Small Animal Vet – Atherstone

Key Details:

  • Working Days: 4 days per week with 1:6 Saturdays (8:30 am–1:00 pm) and 1:6 Saturdays (8:30 am–5:00 pm)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, no out-of-hours
  • Duties: Clinical leadership, consultations, surgery, and development of clinical services
  • Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum, reflective of skills and experience

About the Role:

  • Our client is seeking a Clinical Director to lead a respected small animal team across two sites.
  • The postholder will provide clinical leadership, set and uphold high standards of patient care and client service, and guide a collaborative veterinary team.
  • The role will include a balanced mix of consultations, surgery, and strategic input into clinical governance, service development, and practice performance.
  • The successful candidate will drive clinical excellence, contribute to case discussions, and support colleagues through mentorship and constructive feedback.

About the Practice:

The practice is an RCVS-accredited small animal provider operating across two well-equipped sites. It has served its community for over 100 years and offers a broad caseload, from routine primary care to advanced procedures including orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopic spay and biopsy, soft tissue surgery, and targeted ophthalmology referral services. Facilities include digital X-ray, ultrasound at both sites, large and small endoscopes, electrocautery, cryotherapy, ophthalmic loops, dental equipment, orthopaedic air-powered tools, slit lamp, and tonometers.

About the Team:

The veterinary team comprises nine Veterinary Surgeons, including a certificate holder in Ophthalmology, with several colleagues working towards further qualifications in surgery, emergency and critical care, and acupuncture. A highly experienced, MBA-qualified Practice Manager provides business support. Out-of-hours is covered by an external provider. The organisation invests in professional development with funded CPD, extensive online learning, and clear progression pathways.
