GP Small Animal Vet - Leicester

Key Job Details:

  • Full-time, with part-time hours considered
  • No out-of-hours (OOH) responsibilities.
  • A balanced diary of consultations and operating time.
  • Consultations: Routine 15-minute appointments, with extended slots for complex cases and euthanasia.
  • Surgical procedures: Routine neutering, lumpectomies, dentals, and advanced surgeries such as splenectomies and foreign body removals (depending on experience and interest).
  • In-patient management: Providing excellent care for hospitalised pets, supported by a skilled nursing team.
  • Spacious consult rooms and an efficient workflow facilitated by the nursing and reception team.

About the Practice:

As a first-opinion RCVS-Accredited small animal practice, they take pride in delivering excellent patient care while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Their team consists of 3 Vets, 4 RVNs, 1 SVNs, 1 Kennel Assistant, 4 Receptionists, and an RVN Practice Manager.

Facilities and Equipment:

  • In-house Idexx analysers (haematology, biochemistry, and SNAP test machines).
  • Microscope.
  • Diathermy unit (monopolar and bipolar capabilities).
  • Digital X-rays.
  • Handheld dental X-ray.
  • A range of surgical kits.
  • Cryotherapy unit.
  • Brand-new ultrasound machine.

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary: Up to Β£65,000 p/a reflective of skills, experience, and rota.
  • Holiday allowance(FTE): 224 hours per year, increasing to 264 hours after 2 years.
