Locum Small Animal Vet – Colchester

Key Details:

  • Start Date: Mid July
  • End Date: Ongoing until they recruit.
  • Working Days: 4 days per week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am–6:30 pm, Saturdays 8:30 am–12:30 pm
  • Duties: Consultations and routine surgeries

About the Role:

The client is seeking a capable locum veterinary surgeon to provide small animal cover. The role will involve a balanced caseload of consultations and routine surgical procedures, with time protected for clinical work and client communication. The rota is set at four weekdays with participation in a 1 in 3 Saturday morning clinic. There may be limited availability the preceding week to support handover and continuity. The locum will work within a supportive clinical team and will be expected to provide safe, considerate care, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
